Ramcharan provides organizational leadership, oversees the operational functions, and manages client relationships at KSBM. He draws on his MBA from Richard Ivey School of Business (Canada), his training as a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and his experience as Chief Operating Officer at a leading Broker Dealer in Trinidad, to ensure KSBM provides high quality service to clients. Ramcharan also advises on risk management and investment strategies for client portfolios, having gained insights from over 20 years as a CFA Charter holder, from his international experience while working at Scotiabank (Toronto) in Global Risk Management and in Corporate Banking, and from serving as a Governor on the Board of the Heritage and Stabilization Fund of Trinidad & Tobago from 2012 to 2015.

Portfolio Management


Brent provides technical and strategic leadership on portfolio management activities at KSBM for client portfolios - both institutional and retail. He began his career in the investment field at one of the largest brokerage houses in the region, eventually holding the role of General Manager of its stockbroking arm. There he gained valuable experience and insight into the workings of the regional and international capital markets, honing his analytical and portfolio management skills. Brent attained his Bachelor of Business Management degree from the University of New Brunswick, Canada and later earned the designation Chartered Financial Analyst from the CFA Institute in the US. He has also completed several other investment-related courses.

Bob heads up our repo and fixed income trading desk with a focus on client relationships and business development. In managing and advising on client portfolios, he draws on over twenty-five years’ experience of trading structured products, government and corporate bonds in Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe and the United States. He also leverages his years of experience as a former broker registered on the NYSE and NASDAQ and as a senior VP responsible for managing a bond portfolio of over US$1Billion at a regional firm. Bob is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine and the New York Institute of Finance.

Robert leads KSBM’s Board of Directors, focusing on strategic matters, managing key external relationships and setting the prudential standards for corporate governance. Having served on numerous Boards, including the Chairmanships of a large insurance company, a major telecommunications services provider and the Trinidad & Tobago Credit Union Deposit Insurance Fund, Robert sets the tone for accountability in the organisation. He also draws on his over forty years’ experience in the securities industry in areas such as executive management, equity trading, fund and portfolio management to guide the company’s strategic direction. Robert is an alumnus of Queen’s Royal College and the University of The West Indies where he majored in Mathematics and Economics.

Carolyn serves as Chairman of the Audit Committee and member of the Compliance & Risk Management Committee of KSBM’s Board of Directors. With more than forty years of experience in the Financial Services sector, Carolyn has a broad range of knowledge in several areas including Real Estate, Investment, Health services and Education. Having retired early in 2005, Carolyn entered private consultancy but returned to the workforce in 2009 when she was appointed Finance Director of Colonial Life and Chairman of British American by the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago. In 2010, she was appointed Managing Director at Colonial Life, a position she held for 5 years. A Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (F.C.C.A.) and a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad and Tobago, Carolyn has served as a member of the Boards of several public companies within Trinidad and Tobago.

Hugh serves as Chairman of both the Compliance & Risk Management and the Asset Management Committees of KSBM’s Board of Directors. He holds a BBA (Accounting) from St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York. Hugh was the CEO of the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange (TTSE) for 25 years, leading its transformation from a manual to an automated trading platform as well as developing its modern regulatory framework. Before joining the TTSE, Hugh worked at the New York Stock Exchange in the Department of Regulation and Surveillance and with Haskins, Deloitte & Sells (now Deloitte Touche). He is now a Consultant and Corporate Secretary to the Issa Nicholas Group of Companies and has held Directorships on Boards of numerous companies in the financial services sector in Trinidad & Tobago.
